ACTING Speaker of the National Assembly Cde Raymore Machingura yesterday ordered opposition CCC chief whip in the House, Mr Edwin Mushoriwa, to withdraw a “propaganda” slur he passed on Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere as he entered the chamber during the weekly Question and Answer session.

The incident happened when the acting Speaker was informing the House of the Minister’s availability as he entered the chamber.

Mr Mushoriwa then took advantage of the heckling in the House to pass the remark, which was heard by acting Speaker Machingura, who subsequently ordered him to withdraw the remark.

The Minister remained calm all the time and later said he was unmoved by the incident.

“We believe in the rules and regulations that govern Parliamentary conduct and remain committed to our constitutional responsibility.

“I remain focused on fulfilling the mandate I was given by His Excellency, Dr E.D Mnangagwa to lead the Ministry towards the attainment of Vision 2030,” Dr Muswere said.
