CCC councillor further remanded in custody

Rutendo Nyeve, Sunday News Reporter

Citizens Coalition for Change Ward 22 (Bulawayo) Councillor Bruce Moyo was on Friday morning remanded in custody to 30 August 2024.

Moyo was arrested on charges of allegedly inciting public violence.

He has, through his lawyer Mr Tinashe Runganga of Tanaka Law Chambers, since applied for bail which is still pending at the Bulawayo High court.

The State requested further remand saying it needs time to investigate the allegations raised by the defense counsel, that the accused had been denied food, visitation and medical attention, which was granted by presiding magistrate Ms Beverley Madzikatire

For the State Mr Tanyaradzwa Kahuni said Moyo organised an unsanctioned protest aimed at inciting the public to engage in violent demonstrations.
