qualifier against Liberia in Harare next month.
The match is pencilled for September 4 at the giant National Sports Stadium.
The call by the CCZ comes after the football association hiked the gate charges for the big game.
Those that would want to watch the game from the VVIP section will have to part ways with US$100.
Bays 15 to 18 tickets will cost US$20 to US$50 and entry charges for the rest of the ground is pegged at US$5.
National chairman of the CCZ, Philip Bvumbe, said there was need for Zifa to revise their gate charges as there was no justification for the hike in ticket prices.
“As the Consumer Council of Zimbabwe we are saying there is no justification in profiteering on just one game,” said Bvumbe.
“The charges must remain as they were before so that people can watch the game.
“People must be mindful that the economy is on a recovery and transformation stage and where will people get that kind of money?”
Bvumbe said if the national association did not revise the gate charges, they would be left with no option but to call for the supporters to boycott the game.
“If they don’t reverse the gate charges, as CCZ we will ask people to boycott the game,” said Bvumbe.
“This is just a qualifier, what expenses are they incurring to charge those ticket prices? This is the US dollar we are talking about, it’s a powerful currency.”
The CCZ national chairman said it would be grossly unfair for Zifa to turn their back on the poor people who were there for the team when all hope looked lost.
“Soccer unites the nation, it is a form of entertainment for the whole family,” said Bvumbe.
“How would you encourage young people to watch that match when you are charging exorbitant gate charges?
“These are the future players and we should not deprive them of the chance to watch such a big game.”
