Stand-UP comedian Farai Monroe affectionately known as “Comrade Fatso” is set to shoot a new comedy show early this year. The comedian said he has a lot in store for his fans this year and all his followers should look out for the product.“It’s a great thing for me as l will be shooting a new comedy show in May to widen my wings in the industry,” he said.
Apart from that ,Fatso is working on an album that will be released anytime this year.
“I have been working on an album since last year and I am just putting final touches to it.
“I am working with a French producer, other local artistes like Ammara Brown and some international artistes,” he said . The album contains nine tracks and has a mixture of different genres like hip-hop and chimurenga.
The artiste is also planning to introduce “A Bang Bang Comedy Night” make a comedy night where he will bring in some international comedians into the country in September.
“One of my plans this year is to host “A Bang Bang Comedy Night with some international comedians. I will also be doing shows around Harare,” he said.
Comrade Fatso is one of Zimbabwe’s top spoken word artistes. However, most of his yesteryear acts hinged too much on politics, which often made them lose plot. The comedian is now working on productions to explore important social issues that most local comedians ride on.
