Cde Kanengoni buried

Delivering a keynote address at the burial this morning, Acting President Joice Mujuru said Cde Kanengoni had played a major role in defence of the country both before and after independence.

“Over the last 10 years, our focus has been on deflecting multifaceted regime change efforts aimed at destablising our nation,” she said.

“Cde Kanengoni is counted among the many men and women intelligence officers whose operational skills were deployed to counter persistent threats to the country’s sovereignty and national integrity.”

Family spokesperson and daughter to Cde Kanengoni, Ms Tabetha said her late father had lived a fulfilled life.

“We know his flesh has left us but his spirit is with us. He was a gallant fighter. We know we have a family in Zanu-PF that loves us and that will always be with us,” she said.

Ms Kanengoni hailed President Mugabe, the politburo and the party provincial leadership for recognizing the role Cde Kanengoni played by according him national hero status.
