Cde Musa Ncube still has a lot to deliver in Tsholotsho

ZANU-PF candidate for Tsholotsho South, Cde Musa Ncube believes she has done enough for the constituency in the one year she has spent in Parliament after getting in through a by-election last year.

The seat had fallen vacant following the death of Zanu-PF’s Cde Zenzo Sibanda who succumbed to Covid-19 in 2021 and in a space of one year she has undertaken a number of developmental projects some of which are already completed. She believes she needs a full term to complete all her projects and hopes that can be possible after winning the ticket to represent Zanu-PF in the party’s primaries recently.

“Firstly, I would like to appreciate and thank the people of Tsholotsho for showing confidence in the party and me as their preferred candidate. What is important at this stage for me is to give back to the communities across the constituency and district that has shown confidence in me,” she said.
Cde Ncube, a businesswoman with interests in the catering industry, said to her winning the primaries is not something to celebrate as the real work has just started. She said she had initiated several projects around the constituency especially for vulnerable members of the community including women, youths, war veterans, elderly, widows and orphans who have benefitted from empowerment projects.

Covid-19

The projects are in poultry, piggery, bakery, horticulture, detergents making, fence making machinery, popcorn machines, ovens, goats projects, mushroom farming, beekeeping, welding, cooking oil processing, candle making, floor polish making and others. She also spearheaded borehole drilling and dam maintenance rehabilitation projects.

“Remember we have just one year in office after I came through a by-election but we have achieved more than what a complete term can achieve. We have been capacitating students especially orphans and underprivileged by paying their school fees and assisting the less privileged when it comes to healthcare (buying medicines, supplying) for those who can’t manage to travel,” said Cde Musa.

Working with her constituency development committee, Cde Ncube has helped in the maintenance and rehabilitation of electricity infrastructure that had been unfunctional for a long time across Tsholotsho schools.

She has been working with various partners including Government agencies to implement some projects.

Hamara gave her more than 5 000 chicks that were distributed to small scale farmers. Others are the diaspora community, civil society groups, traditional and religious leaders and individuals who are keen at development of Tsholotsho.

Some of the development partners working with Cde Ncube in Tsholotsho South are Rovirash company and Siengeta Trust that facilitated planting of more than 1 500 trees across the district. Cde Ncube has also helped in establishment of nutritional gardens across Tsholotsho in an effort to improve food security and livelihoods.

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has been electrifying some selected institutions in the constituency while Tzuchi Zimbabwe has been helping on compassion Relief Programmes targeting the vulnerable.

Her office has been helping Tsholotsho youths benefit from various empowerment programmes including the Presidential Scholarship.

“We initiated a landmark Vocational Training Centre for our young people who I put closer to my heart. We have rehabilitated schools and clinics that were affected by strong winds and donated soap to pregnant women and prisoners in Tsholotsho. We have a tilling project where we assist the elderly and less privileged to till their pieces of land and so far, more than 100 families have benefitted across Tsholotsho. We also assist citizens in obtaining birth certificates, identity documents and death certificates as well as with transport in times of need.”

With the environment at the centre of future planning in Tsholotsho because of proximity to wildlife and tourism, Cde Ncube said she was an advocate for green revolution. She said there was need to sustain food security, provide clean water to the people, make sure all children across the district go to school.

Cde Ncube said there was a need to make sure that all traditional and religious leaders were involved in running the constituency because they were key to its growth. She said she intends to push ahead with projects to improve road networks and communication systems as well as setting up of science labs in schools. Cde Ncube said all her projects are centred around capacitating citizens and not leaving anyone behind.

President Mnangagwa

“Our developmental projects are the simple strategy and answer to get and win those five million votes for the President. Our goal is to make sure that every citizen across Tsholotsho is a Zanu-PF voter and we have established cells across villages and we’re still convincing more to come on board. You cannot win people by talking alone. President has setup a very correct template to achieve vision 2030 and we won’t rest until people are satisfied with our leadership. I also want to bring unity in the communities because with unity, we can achieve anything,” said Ncube.

She has initiated anti-drug abuse campaigns across the constituency to save the society from the dangers of abusing dangerous substances. She is also making efforts around environment management where she has been encouraging people in the district to plant at least a tree every year to mitigate the effects of deforestation.

Cde Ncube has full support from Tsholotsho villagers based outside the country who earlier this year convened a meeting and appealed for space to develop social amenities in the district
