THE release of Constituency Development Funds (CDF) by the Government has unlocked massive development countrywide.
Treasury released ZiG 93 million to the first batch of 71 constituencies which is already creating yet another wave of tangible development programmes under the Second Republic across all corners of the country.
The CDF is a Government programme where funds are allocated to all elected Members of Parliament to foster various developmental projects that improve livelihoods.

In Mazowe Central, various projects are underway with material for the completion of a clinic in Ward 19 under Matepatepa handed over to the community and Bindura Rural District Council on Sunday.
Speaking at the handover of the items including plumbing material, paints, geysers and various goods for Chelvy Clinic’s completion, the area’s legislator Dr Maxmore Njanji (Zanu PF) applauded the Government’s policy to see no one and no place being left behind in the development agenda.
He re-emphasised the need for communities to work together guided by the mantra, “nyika inovakwa nevene vayo”.
“We want to thank President Mnangagwa for his genuine commitment to see everyone achieve an upper-middle income status by 2030. As legislators, our role is to implement this vision hence today we are here to deliver the material secured by CDF.
“ The CDF committee agreed on certain key projects and Chelvy clinic was also highlighted as a key need for this area, hence all the infrastructure to get the clinic functional has been delivered and I understand with all stakeholder urgently coming on board the completion can be in a few weeks’ time.”

Recently, Dr Njanji delivered material for the rehabilitation of Chiraire river footbridge and roofing material for the completion of a two-classroom block in Matepatepa all funded by the CDF allocation.
Ward 19 Councillor Tonderai Masango applauded the initiative, saying access to health facilities had been a challenge especially for expecting women, the disabled and the elderly in farm settlements.
