Birthdays are worthy to be celebrated with family and friends as these are people that one spends most of their lifetime with and they create lasting memories that bind them together.
When one ages with grace, the mature mindset in them realises the importance of creating more memories with those close to them for they are key stakeholders in his or her life.
Bulawayo’s multi-award-winning musician, Msiz’Kay is a darling of many as he has managed to create his own family of fans through his soothing music.
The “Kulula” hitmaker has created a crazy fanbase over the past years that is insane with his music, which has become a healing remedy in their lives.
Msiz’Kay himself knows well that his life no longer belong to him as he has many fans to please and as he turned 35 years old on 20 June, he saw a need to do a belated birthday party so that he can grove and enjoy himself with his legion of fans.
Dubbed “iParty ka Msiz’Kay”,the party will be held at The Mitre Leisure on 22 June. The event will be hosted by social media sensation Sipho Mercent Nyathi and it will see some of Msiz’ Kay’s friends performing including Sonkomose and Bhekiwe.
Award winning producer and DJ Skaiva will be amongst the wheel spinners for the night as well as DJ Toxic Chemical, DJ Fritz and Eazy Vert. The dance floor will be energised by the No Name Crew.
Msiz’ Kay said he was excited to be celebrating his birthday with “family” as he expressed gratitude for the support from his fans. He said he would launch a surprise single during the celebration.
“The best moments in life are moments shared with family and friends and people who appreciate you, hence, when coming up with this gig, I made a decision to celebrate my birthday through a music show with my fans because they have been stuck with me and their immense support made them my family.
“As I turned 35, I am grateful for the gift of life and grateful to be able to do what I love, which is music and I am also appreciative that what I love loves me back. The line-up for the show was inspired by the theme of celebrating life.
We have DJs to make us dance, music performances to sing along with, comedy to make us laugh, poetry to reflect and a photo booth to preserve memories. Some of the best Djs in the city will give us good vibes and we will have amazing performances from myself, Bhekiwe and Sonkomose and a whole lot of laughs from Sipho Mercent Nyathi,” said Msiz’ Kay.
