Celine Sky returns with new sound

Bulawayo-based songstress, Celine Sky, captivated audiences at the Flexiwork Workplace and Coworking Space in Bulawayo last Friday with her event, “Sky’s Strings and Soul.”

The event was a mesmerising musical journey that unveiled her much-awaited single, “Shepherd’s Rhythm.”

The venue was transformed into a sanctuary for those yearning for connection through music. Celine Sky reintroduced herself to her loyal fanbase, celebrating her roots and the many influences that have shaped her musical identity.

Born and raised in Bulawayo, Celine Sky’s sound reflects a rich tapestry woven from the diverse cultures that surround her, drawing from folk, blues, gospel and Lo-Fi. The event featured performances by Sox The Poet, Barb The Emotional Alchemist and soulful rapper FaRAi, while Celine Sky was supported by a duo live band consisting of lead guitarist Kinah the Music and keyboardist, Larynx.

Rapper Brintz, who recently collaborated with Celine Sky and Asaph Afrika on, “Vula Amasango,” steered the proceedings. With each note and lyric, Celine Sky aims to establish herself within the music community, embracing a unique style that blends Lo-Fi romantics and gentle soul.

Her new single, “Shepherd’s Rhythm,” explores themes of unconditional love, self-love and mental awareness. Having graced stages across Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zanzibar, she has garnered profound insights from her experiences.

“Each location has a unique energy and the audiences respond differently to music,” she reflected.

This adaptability has enriched her performances allowing her to forge genuine connections with listeners, irrespective of their backgrounds. With her new sound, Celine Sky is poised to take the music scene by storm and fans were eagerly anticipating her next move.
