THE Zanu-PF Matabeleland North Province has expressed excitement at the notable strides made in its cell and village restructuring exercise which it says has strengthened the party ahead of the 21st Annual People’s Conference in Bulawayo this Tuesday.

This development was highlighted during a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) meeting at the party’s provincial headquarters in Lupane yesterday.

Provincial Chairperson Richard Moyo presided over the meeting, where District Co-ordinating Committee (DCC) chairpersons from the seven districts in the province reported on their progress with the restructuring process.

Following the meeting, Cde Moyo expressed his satisfaction with the advancements made so far and thanked a member of their politburo, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, who provided fuel to facilitate the process.

“We are pleased with the reports from the DCC chairpersons regarding the cell restructuring efforts. Thanks to the 700 litres of fuel donated by our politburo member and Speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, each district received 100 litres, which significantly accelerated our work.

“Our DCC chairpersons have done a commendable job in ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently. With this restructuring, we are confident that we will be well-positioned to guide the province effectively,” said Cde Moyo.
A consolidated report on the restructuring activities across provinces is expected to be presented to the Central Committee on October 22.

Cde Moyo also recognised Deputy Director for Returnees, Ms Memory Sibanda, for her efforts in mobilising returnees, leading to Zanu-PF’s victory in the Binga Manjolo Ward.
He urged party members to unite in their efforts to secure a win in the upcoming by-election for Ward One in Victoria Falls, scheduled for November 13.

In Binga’s Manjolo Ward, Zanu-PF candidate Obert Munkuli triumphed with 902 votes, while his competitors, NCA and CCC candidates, garnered 9 and 24 votes respectively, and an independent candidate received 402 votes.
Speaking on the upcoming 21st Annual National People’s Conference, Cde Moyo announced that preparations are underway for the province’s participation, with candidate accreditation progressing smoothly and contributions being mobilized.

“Out of our target of 280 candidates for the conference, 217 have been accredited. Through our fundraising endeavours, we have successfully contributed five tonnes of maize, five cattle, 10 crates of tomatoes, and US$50 000,” Cde Moyo stated. @nyeve14
