AFTER stabbing a man to death, two Zvishavane men ran out of luck as they were arrested after a cellphone was discovered a few metres away from the corpse.
Tavanane Moyo (25) and Leornard Mavuya (25) of Mandava suburb are facing a murder charge following the death of Vincent Nyoni (21).
Nyonia��s body was discovered on the morning of 22 March near Chiedza Hall.
The matter was reported to the police who swiftly attended the scene and during their investigations they discovered a cell phone Samsung GTE 220 which led to the arrest of its owner Moyo and he was picked as the main suspect.
After being interrogated, he spilt the beans exposing his other accomplices. Only Mavuya was caught and the others were reportedly on the run.
Moyo and Mavuya appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Peter Madiva facing a murder charge and were remanded in custody to 6 April.
The court heard that on 21 March between midnight and 2am, the now deceased had a misunderstanding with the two accused who were in the company of others.
During the scuffle, Nyoni was stabbed on the left side of his neck with a sharp object resulting in his death.A� Upon noticing that Nyoni was lying lifeless, they ran away from the scene and it is the time when the accused dropped his phone which later sold them out.
Police discovered the phone and arrested Moyo who then divulged what had transpired resulting in the arrest of Mavuya.A� At Mavuyaa��s place, police discovered a jean jacket which had blood stains further nailing them to the charge.
