CHAMPION “Mbewe” Chienderamwano was crowned the 2015 Mr Zimbabwe in Harare on Saturday night. Regina Jonga won the 2015 Ms Zimbabwe title. Chienderamwano, who is based in Botswana and is also the reigning Mr Ironman, beat Tarirai Chirume into second place.
Brighton Mazikana was third. Chienderamwano is the third athlete to win the accolade three times in a role. Others to have achieved the same feat are Givemore Marume, 2001 to 2003, while George Takundwa dominated from 1981 to 1984. The senior men under 90kgs category was won by Ndumiso Dhlodhlo, who beat pre-tournament favourite Vincent Kandiero into second place.
National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness (NFZBBF) spokesperson, Quiet Shangai, said the event went on well and thanked the sponsors for coming on board.
“The event was a great success and we hope to continue with the good relations with our sponsors. Everything went according to plan and the level of competition is improving with each passing event.”
