VERSATILE reggae artist, MC Kampton, is working on a track with Poptain to be released before the end of the month.
Named Sorry, the single cautions people, during the festive season, to be responsible.
The artist told H-Metro that people will relate to the catchy lyrics and hopes it becomes a national campaign song against substance abuse.
“It’s an inspiration to raise awareness to the youth and general public to merry-make responsibly over the festive season.
“I’m sure a certain age group will relate to the catchy ‘sorry ndangandakadhakwa’ lines and this is deliberately done to make sure this song becomes the national campaign song against substance abuse this season of festivities,’’ he said.
Despite the financial difficulties, MC Kampton is hoping to release it soon enough to make the track sink in before the festive celebrations begin.
“The song ‘Sorry’ is scheduled to drop any time before December as we would like to give people enough time to listen to the message before the height of the season kicks in.
“When this project was done, it was well in time for all processes to happen with their natural time despite having many different parties to the creation of this project.
“Music needs a lot of resources to push a brand and right now the money could never be enough for my team and me to do all that we plan to achieve.
“However, we had a relatively great experience working with Producer Leekay of Vibe Hub Records and I thank my brother Poptain for helping me deliver this message,” he added.
The track ‘Sorry’ will be the first release from MC Kampton, who is set to release a 12-track mixtape project, titled ‘Flextape’.
The rest of the mixtape drops in 2023 featuring heavy collaborations with Anita Jaxson, Tamy Moyo and a Kenyan collabo.
He also recorded on the Ignition Riddim by Vibe Hub Records.
