RISING dancehall chanter, Benjamin Mlambo, has engaged the services of South Africa-based comedian, Baba Tencen, in his latest video for the song Rumwe Rudzi.
The video, whose scenes were shot in South African and Zimbabwe, is off his third album titled Zvangu Ndega.
It carries eight tracks – Magitare, Zvakasikwa zvadero, Ndiri Mwana waJesu, Rumwe Rudzi, Mwari Inzwai, Unonzi Ani, Love Again and the title track Zvangu Ndega.
In an interview, Mlambo said it’s a dream come true to engage the services of the man behind the Kuripwa Kugara skits.
“It’s taking shape slowly and the song is on my third album titled Zvangu Ndega.
“The title track, Zvangu Ndega, encourages people to work hard so that they realise their goals.
“The song encourages young people to be responsible and also to do things under little or no supervision.
“In the song, Ndiri Mwana waJesu, I am denouncing the use of juju, many young people varikuromba so I am encouraging them to desist from such social evils.

“I am also taking a swipe at drug abuse on this song and encouraging the young generation to work hard since we are the future leaders or parents,” he said.
“I see it as an achievement to come up with such a project and the video is already showing on ZBC TV and it motivates me to continue pushing.
“If a get sponsorship, and a manager trusts me, I will be the next big deal in music circles.
“With the little resources I am getting, I am managing to come with exciting music.
“Promoters should not hesitate to give me a chance and I am pretty sure I will deliver.”
The Chipinge-based chanter, also told this publication, he wishes to hold shows in Harare and rub shoulders with established chanters.
“My wish is to share the stage with renowned artists and also perform before the large crowds, probably there in Harare.
“Jah Prayzah and Freeman inspire me to do better every day.”
To date, he has two albums to his credit, namely My Season, which was released in 2019 and Yarira Pembe.
The 24-year-old chanter has also managed to do a collaboration with Naroo Jap from Ghana, in the song Bad Gall.
He also teamed up with Aduit from Lesotho in the song Follow Your Heart.
