THERE was chaos at an accident scene in Budiriro 3 on Tuesday night after a Mercedes Benz crashed into a bus.

Passengers disembarked and demand a refund, while the motorist and bus driver exchanged harsh words. The female motorist said she crashed into the bus because she hadn’t noticed that it was stationary.

“The bus had no stop lights or reflectors at the back and I hit it from behind. The moment I noticed that the bus had stopped, I tried my best to avoid hitting it by switching lanes, but unfortunately there was an oncoming vehicle.

“I had no other option, but to hit the bus to avoid a head-on collision,” she said.

The confrontation between the motorist and bus driver resulted in a serious traffic congestion, as police took long to attend to the scene. One of the bus passengers who only identified himself as Casper told H-Metro that Mercedes Benz hit the bus from the back.

“We were heading the same direction and the driver of the Mercedes Benz came and hit the bus from the back.”

Passengers also had a fracas with the bus crew as they were not given back their money. Some had to walk to their destinations since they were not refunded.
