POLICE had a torrid time on Saturday as they fought running battles with thugs who wanted to gain free entry at The Unplugged show.

The event was held at Greendale Sports Club.

South African rapper Costa Titch headlined the event.

The problem started when the event organisers hiked the charges by 100 percent.

Initially, fans were supposed to pay US$10, but the charges were hiked to US$20.

The fans protested by threatening to gain free entry.

Some of the thugs scaled the precast security walls.

During the melee, fans clashed with the police who wanted to maintain order.

Some of the fans ended up listening to the music from outside the show venue.
