A FIVE-WICKET haul by Wishnenzy Chapfombo helped to bring about a straightforward six-wicket victory for Takashinga Patriots 2 over Rimuka in a National Premier League (NPL) match at Takashinga on Wednesday.
He cut through the middle order of Rimuka, who batted first, and the only man able to withstand him for long was their captain, Tashinga Musekiwa, who scored 44 off 57 balls.
Chapfombo took the final wicket with his last possible ball to finish with five wickets for 43 runs in nine overs.
Takashinga did not begin too strongly, losing their first three wickets for 68 runs, but their captain, Knowledge Kaia, with 39 not out, and Tinotenda Maposa (30 off 17 balls) made sure of victory.
At Kwekwe Sports Club, fifties from Innocent Kaia and Timycen Maruma were prominent as Takashinga Patriots 1 completed a seven-wicket victory over Amakhosi.
