THE Chapungu executive have thrown their weight behind coach John Nyikadzino. Nyikadzino’s men drew 2-2 with How Mine at Ascot last Friday, with the coach attracting the wrath of the club’s fans. The supporters even approached the executive and demanded that he be axed. “We are a professional organisation and we employ people to empower them and develop them and not to fire them,” club chief executive Levy Mukotekwa said.

“We are trying as a team to bring positive results, but we are not yet there and we need to encourage him and not to fire him,” said Mukotekwa.

Nyikadzino also appealed for calm. “I appeal to the fans to be patient. We are slowly getting there and I applaud my executive for the confidence they have shown in me,” said the coach.
