CHICKEN Inn midfielder, Michael Charamba is back training with the GameCocks after a trial stint with Tanzania football giants Simba SC earlier this month.
The Soccer Star of the Year finalist was called for assessment after a brilliant outing last season.
The speedy winger featured for Simba SC in a friendly match playing the first-half of the game as part of his assessment.
According to sources, Charamba had not informed the club on his trip though he now awaits feedback from Simba.
“The player is back and staying put at Chicken Inn unless Simba tables a good offer to get the player,” said a source.
Charamba renewed his contract at Chicken Inn recently and feels indebted to the Bulawayo side after they stood with him following a career-threatening injury, which ruled him out of action for the better part of the 2022 league season.
He gave a good account of himself playing as a right-wing midfielder for Chicken Inn last season and had a number of spectacular goals from outside the box.
Chicken Inn have started their pre-season training and are looking at some players as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
Among the new faces at the session were Elshamar Farasi whose loan spell came to an end at Highlanders, Brendon Mpofu who was let go by Dynamos, former club captain Danny Phiri and another former Chicken Inn player Innocent Muchaneka. Chicken Inn has so far lost the services of Shepherd Mhlanga who has joined FC Platinum.
Antipas, however, said they were yet to make any signings.
Last season, the 2015 league champions finished on position seven after winning 11 games and losing on seven occasions.
They posted a massive 16 draws in the process. They will be looking to improve on that performance this year.
