Trainer Clyde Musonda, who was in Manyuchi’s corner, said the Masvingo based pugilist put up a good show to warm the hearts of the fans.
“Manyuchi won by a technical knockout in the fourth round.
“The non-title bout was supposed to go for eight rounds but Manyuchi stopped his opponent midway.
“I think he did very well considering that he was taking on the Zambian champion and the fans there ended up supporting him.
“It’s not easy to beat a boxer who is fighting in front of his home fans but Manyuchi showed that he is up to the task,” said Musonda.
The fight between Manyuchi and Mwisa was one of the eight undercard bouts to the World Professional Boxing Federation bantamweight clash between Nathalie Forget of Canada and Zambia’s Cathrine Phiri.
Phiri won the title fight on points while three other Zimbabweans who took part in non-title fights also found the going tough.
One of Zimbabwe’s top female boxers Diana Makumbe lost on points to Royda Mushukano in a bantamweight clash.Tinashe Madziwana lost on split points decision in a bantamweight clash against Gibson Kamota.
There was also no joy for Nicola Mutonhora who lost on to Zambia’s Lawrence Mwale in a middleweight fight.
