Chatunga expected in court on Tuesday over SA shooting

Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe (28) and his ci-accused Tobias Matonhodze Mugabe (33) are expected to appear tomorrow at the Alexandra Magistrate Court in Johannesburg, South Africa, for bail application.

The two were remanded in custody on February 23.

They are facing charges of attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and illegal possession of a firearm.

Chatunga is accused of shooting his 23-year-old employee on 19 February over an issue that is yet to be established.

During the initial arrest, the two were charged for attempted murder.

However, more charges were added after the police failed to locate the gun that was used in committing the crime.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson for Gauteng, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhuwi recently said the firearm is yet to be found.

However, the police managed to recover spent cartridges at the scene.

The alleged victim is still in hospital.
