Chavez calls for peace in Libya

civilians are dying daily under NATO attacks and the rebel military campaign.
“Pray to God for the Libyan people and for people of the world: Peace for the world!”, urged Hugo Chavez, who since the beginning of the conflict proposed to the international community a peaceful way out of the situation.
The Venezuelan statesman described as a massacre the intervention of the US and some European countries that have supported politically and militarily the rebel forces.
False democrats are demolishing Tripoli with bombs over schools, hospitals, homes, factories, and lands, warned Monday the Miraflores Palace, where an ecumenical prayer of healing was said.
Even when some reports from the territory said that rebels are controlling a large section of the capital, the secretary general of the alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, warned this military organisation will continue to control the military scene and keep a watch on military units and facilities.
According to Chavez, the United States and its allies are setting up a dangerous precedent for attacking independent countries in order to take control of their resources.
That is why Chavez urged his followers to keep alert to neutralise internal and external threats.
We must neutralise every US plan to destabilise and to intervene in countries, like in Libya and Syria, added Chavez.
“They unleashed violence, caused death and destruction in the name of peace to intervene and to conquer them”, said Chavez.
The president also remembered Venezuela has the biggest oil reserves of the world (296,5 billion of barrels), which Washington wants for itself considering the foreseeable shortage of hydrocarbons in a not long term future. – PL.
