AHFoZ chief executive officer Mrs Shylet Sanyanga revealed this at the official opening of the association’s new offices in Harare on Friday.
“As AHFoZ we believe we are an important player in the healthcare sector playing a complementary role to Government,” said Mrs Sanyanga.
“We take seriously issues arising from the conferences which are subsequently discussed by the executive committee with resolutions being passed and actioned.”
AHFoZ chairman Mr Enock Chitekedza said the association was working flat out to respond to the needs and expectations of the environment.
“Efforts to improve on quality and access will continue as we believe it is our responsibility to help improve the healthcare system in our country,” said Mr Chitekedza.
Health Services Board chairman, Dr Lovemore Mbengeranwa urged societies to invest in disease prevention and promotion rather than curative health. Formed in 1969, AHFoZ has a membership of 30 societies.
