New data compiled by Fair Betting Sites analysed fans of all 20 top flight clubs and surveyed supporters on how many pints they drink on a matchday. From almost 18 000 responses, the data shows that Chelsea fans drink more than any other club on the day of a game, with an average of six pints consumed.
The Blues, who are having a woeful season, come out on top by drinking one more pint than fans of Leicester City and Liverpool according to the data.
At the opposite end of the leaderboard, Arsenal prop up the standings, with their fans drinking an average of just one pint per matchday. That tally sees them joint-bottom alongside supporters of Fulham and Southampton.
Chelsea fans cannot be blamed for out-drinking the rest of the league when watching their side, with Graham Potter’s side enduring a torrid season at Stamford Bridge.
Currently sitting 10th in the Premier League, Chelsea are 14 points adrift of the top four following their 2-0 loss away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. In addition, the Blues are now closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places.
Across their last 11 matches in all competitions, the club have managed just one win, losing each of their last six in league and cups. Already out of both domestic cups, Chelsea also trail Borussia Dortmund following the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
As a result of the club’s poor form, pressure is growing on Potter despite the former Brighton & Hove Albion coach only being appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement in September. – Daily Star.
