AFTER their breathtaking performance that saw them pick up their first ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League points after an outstanding game of cricket in the third and final ODI with Pakistan, the Chamu Chibaba-captained
Chevrons now shift focus to the three T20 games set to be played on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The Zimbabwe senior cricket team got the famous super over victory after some brilliant bowling by man of the match Blessing Muzarabani and good work with the bat by the pair of Brendan Taylor and Sikandar Raza.
It was Zimbabwe’s first triumph on Pakistan soil after 22 years of being eluded by positive results in the South Asian country.

In regard Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani, who is with the team in Pakistan, reckons the team’s rebuilding exercise should be founded on Tuesday’s triumph.
“Congratulations to the boys, what a game, what a win. Great fighting spirit from Pakistan. We needed this as a nation to put smiles on our fans.
“The rebuilding of the team continues,’’ said Mukuhlani.
With 10 points in the bag, Zimbabwe are now on the right path in their mission to get an automatic qualification for the 2023 World Cup to be hosted by India.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, ZC announced that the two cricketers Regis Chakabva and Timycen Maruma as well as members of support staff, who tested positive for the coronavirus last month have since recovered.
Chakabva and Maruma have recovered together with two members of staff who tested positive for Covid-19.
The cricketers are expected to start training ahead of the start of the country’s domestic cricket season.
“Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) is pleased to announce the two players and two members of support staff who tested positive for Covid-19 a fortnight ago have fully recovered.
“After returning negative results this week, the players, Regis Chakabva and Timycen Maruma, will be resuming training ahead of the 2020/ 21 domestic season, while the support staffers are also expected back on duty soon,’’ said ZC in a statement.
“The Academy House in Harare, where the four stayed when they tested positive for the coronavirus, has been reopened after the facility was disinfected and deep-cleaned,” further read the statement.
