PROTEAS Women have set Zimbabwe Lady Chevrons a commanding target of 194 runs after posting 193/3 in the second T20 International at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday.
In front of a sizeable crowd, the South Africans punished the bad balls, with Anneke Bosch top-scoring with 65 off 31 balls, hitting 12 fours.
She was followed by an unbeaten 52 off 34 balls from Faye Tunnicliffe, whose knock included three fours and four sixes.
Zimbabwe captain Nomvelo Sibanda used seven bowlers, including herself, but all were expensive as the Proteas Women put the hosts under pressure.
Zimbabwe’s shining lights with the ball were Michell Mavhunga, who bowled four overs for 25 runs and took one wicket, and Tendai Mukusha, who bowled three overs and also claimed one wicket.
Zimbabwe are now chasing 194.
