A Chitungwiza-based choreographer is on cloud nine after his work was recognised internationally.
Adam Mararirakwenda said he never expected that one day his artwork would be acknowledged by big artists.
Mararirakwenda, affectionately known as Adam Kudzie, recently dropped a video he choreographed, which was posted on Instagram by Nigerian superstar Wizkid.
“I am very happy that my art is also being acknowledged out of this country which was always my wish.
“It showed me that my work is now accepted in different regions,” he said.
The 25-year-old has worked with several local artistes like Janet Manyowa, King 98, Nutty O, Nyasha David and Takura, among others.
He said he was inspired by sungura guru, Alick Macheso, and Congolese rhumba stalwart Koffi Olomide.
The choreographer said it was not easy to get recognition in the industry, but courage kept him going.
“The journey has been tough, but quite interesting. Just being recognised by the finest artistes and corporates motivates me to keep chasing my dream,” said Adam Kudzie.
He also said the recent post by Wizkid gives him hope to keep on working hard as he is seeing light in his art work.
He choreographed Wizkid’s song titled Pressure.
“I chose to choreograph Wizkid’s song because I relate to most of his songs that talk about his love life and his journey as an artiste.
“This particular song has a different sound which I connected to,” he said.
