Chibhabha shows his charitable side

ZIMBABWE national cricket team limited overs captain, Chamunorwa Chibhabha has shown his charitable side by donating his autographed shirt, clothing as well as foodstuffs to Takashinga Cricket Club veteran grounds man, Tichivangana Maraini.

Items donated by the One Day International and Twenty20 International skipper included roller meal, rice, beans, bread, cooking oil, clothes and a suit. Chibhabha recently handed over the donation to the 82-year old Maraini at the Highfield based club. While Maraini, popularly known as “Sekuru Chirandu” has retired from employment at Zimbabwe Cricket, he is still being looked after by Takashinga.

Chirandu joined Takashinga in 1998 and lived in a tent since there were no structure until the construction of the facility was completed in 2001.

Now at Rainbow Cricket Club, Chibhabha, appointed the country’s One Day International and Twenty20 International started off his career at Takashinga.

Seeing that Maraini is now of advanced at, Takashinga are making plans to visit his rural area in Gutu to attend to what needs to be done for him to go and live there. The club wants to build a house for Maraini so that he can enjoy a comfortable retirement in his rural home.
