PACKERS International, proprietor of the Chicken Slice brand, is set open more branches countrywide to increase market share, marketing and public relations manager Mrs Bernadette Mbauya said. “Since we started, there has been an overwhelming brand acceptance and in terms of expansion, we are looking at favourable sites in various towns,” she said in an interview.
Packers International, through its Chicken Slice brand on Monday won the Fast Foods Company of the year award from the Zimbabwe Business Awards Council. In yesterday’s edition of this newspaper, it was erroneously reported that Innscor’s Chicken Inn had won the award.
The awards, which were also given to various other companies, recognise success in various areas including business, arts, education and sports. “We feel honoured considering that we are a customer oriented organisation and we always do things to please our customers,” said Mrs Mbauya.
“So having this honour, it means we are achieving what we want as an organisation.”
Packers International operates nine branches; seven in Harare, one in Bulawayo and another in Mvuma. Apart from the Chicken Slice brand, some of the brands under the company include Pizza Slice and Creamy Slice. It also runs grocery outlets.
Mrs Mbauya said they would concentrate on adding more branches locally before expanding into the region. Chicken Slice was launched in 2010.
The next branch is set to be opened in Gweru.
