ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa has heaped praise on FC Platinum ahead of their Premiership clash at Mandava Stadium this afternoon. Matches between the two sides since the arrival of the experienced gaffer have been explosive and last season, ZPC managed to leave Zvishavane with a point. “Mapeza has got quality and has a big advantage over us besides playing at home. He knows most of his players and they have jelled together for the past three years he has been with the team.
“He has gone for 28 matches unbeaten in the league and it is not going to be easy for us. I know FC Platinum are very strong and that is the reason why they are on top of the log and still unbeaten in the league since last year,” said the veteran gaffer.
Chidzambwa, however, was confident that his men would pick up something from Mandava. “We are approaching every game we play with a positive mind this season and we would want to do better. Tomorrow (today) ZPC will assemble 11 players who will play against 11 players from FC Platinum.
“We are not a team that depends on individuals but we work as a team and we are expecting a different ball game altogether as compared to last season,” he said.
The match will see the return of midfielder Wisdom Mutasa who will seek to reserve his best against his former team. Experienced Thomas Sweswe will be expected to deal with all the raids from the home side’s attack.
Limited Chikafa and Lenard Fiyado are some players who are expected to do their best for the power utility side this afternoon.
ZPC who also seem to pose a serious challenge invaded the mining town on Thursday ahead of today’s clash.
Mapeza is enjoying a fine run and with players like Tatenda Dzumbunu, Winston Mhango, Gift Bello, captain Petros Mhari, the Zambian Obrey Chirwa and Walter Musona the is going to be a close contest.
