Chidzivo qualifies for World Champs

ZIMBABWE’S female marathon runner Fortunate Chidzivo has secured her place at the World Athletics Championships scheduled for September 13 to 21 in Tokyo, Japan.

Chidzivo, with a personal best of 2 hours 33 minutes 30 seconds, received a World Athletics universality slot.

She becomes the sixth athlete to qualify for the meet.

Chidzivo joins fellow long-distance runners, Isaac Mpofu and Tendai Zimuto, sprinters Tapiwanashe Makarawu, Makanakaishe Charamba and Vimbayi Maisvorewa.

She has represented Zimbabwe at the championships before.
