Chief appointed

He said preparations to install the chief were in progress.

“President Mugabe has in terms of the Traditional Leaders Act appointed Murambiwa Witness Bungu as the substantive Chief Chikwaka in Goromonzi district of Mashonaland East Province,” he said.

“Arrangements for his installation are being put in place. The installation should be soon to allow him to fully discharge his duties,” he said.

The new chief took over from Kimpton Chigaramasimbe who has been Acting Chief Chikwaka since the death of his father Tapfumaneyi Chigaramasimbe in September 2008.
The chieftainship rotates in the three houses of Mupakaviri, Bungu and Chidya.
