Pan African Parliament president Chief Fortune Charumbira will be one of the panelists at the United Nations Summit of the Future that starts this Friday in New York ahead of the global body’s General Assembly.
The summit brings together world leaders to forge a renewed global consensus on how to effectively address present challenges and safeguard the future.

Chief Charumbira is expected to deliver a speech at the summit where he will share insights on how parliaments can contribute to strengthening multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation.

The thrust of Chief Charumbira’s address will focus on how parliaments can use their legislative, budgetary, and supervisory powers to ensure the financing of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and massively scale up accessible and affordable financing for developing countries.

He will also explore how parliaments can push forward the reform of the international financial architecture and build bridges between various stakeholders and governments to ensure the financing of SDGs.
