Traditional leadership continues to be strengthened in Bulilima District following the installation of Mr Ngqobizitha Moyo (Headman Macebo) as the substantive Headman of Huwana Ward 8, in Matabeleland South.

The installation ceremony was held on Friday last week at Macebo Village under Chief Manguba.

Chief Manguba, who was the Guest of Honour, presided over the installation. Since his own installation in December 2022, this marks the third Headman to be installed by Chief Manguba, highlighting ongoing efforts to restore and strengthen traditional structures in his jurisdiction.

Chief Manguba said the installation was historic for the clan.

“Headman Macebo is installed for the very first time, in the Macebo clan there was no Headman,” he said.

The event was graced by fellow traditional leaders, Senator Chief Masendu and Chief Hikhwa, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Hon. Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, the Deputy Minister of ICT and MP for Bulilima Constituency, Hon Dingumuzi Phuti, and the Bulilima District Development Coordinator (DDC).

The Civil Registry Department was also present, providing birth certificates and national identity documents to villagers.

Chief Manguba urged the new Headman to lead with integrity and uphold unity in the community.

The newly installed Headman Macebo expressed gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him and pledged to serve the people of Huwana, Ward 8 diligently.
