Chiefs face Celtic, Ajax get Wits

Defending champions Kaizer Chiefs will face Bloemfontein Celtic in the semifinals of the MTN8 while Ajax Cape Town will tackle BidVest Wits following a draw conducted on yesterday.

Celtic were the first club out the bowl, followed by Chiefs, meaning that Phunya Sele Sele will have home advantage for the first of the two-legged semifinal affairs.

The second match will see Ajax taking on Wits, with the Urban Warriors travelling to Johannesburg for the return leg after hosting the Clever Boys in the Mother City for the first game. The first leg will be played on the 15th and 16th of August, while the second-leg matches will be on the 29th and 30th of August.

The PSL General Manager of Football, Derek Blanckensee, was the draw master, and was assisted by representatives from the sponsors, MTN and PSL.

Meanwhile, Itumeleng Khune has signed a five-year contract with Kaizer Chiefs, according to reports.

Reports suggest in that Khune has penned a deal with Amakhosi and will now pocket R470, 000 a month.- Supersport
