The Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, Dr Joseph Made, will present provincial reports on the inputs distribution for the 2011/2012 farming season.
The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Francis Nhema is expected to present to the chiefs the challenges in the management of the environment, while the Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Empowerment, Saviour Kasukuwere will talk about the share ownership scheme and projects being conducted by his ministry.
The Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Dr Hebert Murerwa, is expected to present an update on land management issues while Governors and Resident Ministers for Mashonaland East and Bulawayo Provinces Aeneas Chigwedere and Ambassador Cain Mathema and former Governor for Midlands Province, Cde Cephas Msipa, are expected to give an insight on cultural values and principles.
Archbishop Nolbert Kunonga and Bishop Johannes Ndanga will lead a discussion on tradition and Christianity issues.
The constitution-making process is also part of the agenda as the Deputy Minister of State Enterprise and Parastatals Walter Chidhakwa will give an update onthe issue.
Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include the Minister of Local Government, Urban and Rural Development, Dr Ignatius Chombo, president of the Chiefs’ Council,
Chief Fortune Charumbira and his deputy Chief Mtshane Khumalo.
At about 4pm yesterday hundreds of dignitaries had been accredited for the conference while chiefs and their spouses from Midlands, Matabeleland North and South had arrived.
