HIGHLANDERS’ new found hope, Mafios Chihweta, could be on his way to Scottland FC after the two teams allegedly agreed terms last week.
What is left is for Scottland and the player to agree personal terms.
While Highlanders and Scottland could not be drawn to comment on the issue on Monday morning,
Zimpapers Sports Hub has it on good authority that the deal was concluded last week.
Chihweta, however, according to sources close to him, wants to stay longer at Highlanders and develop further. He has scored three goals so far for Bosso.
He was on the books of Ajax Hotspurs in the Zifa Southern Region Division One last year and crossed over in early 2025.
Highlanders are sponsored by Scottland’s backers and owners Scott Sakupwanya’s BetterBrands.
Scottland, who moved Lynoth Chikuhwa to Chicken Inn despite Highlanders’ interest in the player, have also made their intentions clear that they also want Mason Mushore.
At the beginning of the season, Scottland signed Chikuhwa, Peter Muduhwa, Marvelous Chigumira and Godrey Makaruse from Highlanders.
Makaruse was never registered for the Premiership season and has since been released to Bulawayo Chiefs while Chukuhwa is now at Chicken Inn.
