adminJOHANNESBURG. — With two weeks to go until the Absa Premiership season officially gets underway, former Orlando Pirates winger, Innocent Chikoya, believes that Muhsin Ertugral is slowly building a competitive team with the help of preseason tournaments.The Bucs’ team looks radically different to the one that finished last season’s campaign under Eric Tinkler, with their new coach and a number of high profile arrivals joining the team. Chikoya believes that Ertugral’s experimentation in preseason games has shown that he will be able to build the team that he wants.
“The coach has been using the different tournaments and friendly games, and it will help him build the team that he wants,” Chikoya told the Siya crew.
The 46-year-old went on to say that Ertugral has used the uncompetitive games to establish how his team will take shape when the results start to matter.
“He has the chance to look at almost all the players, the old and the new, and see which combinations he will use in the new season and going forward,” Chikoya concluded. — Laduma.
