A Bulawayo woman claimed her husband successfully turned their eight-year-old daughter against her by alleging that she was a satanist after her blood.
Thandazani Ndlovu, a prison officer stationed at Khami Maximum Prison appearing in a civil suit at the Bulawayo civil court suing her husband Mkhululi Mnyokeni (ABOVE) said at some point her daughter wanted nothing to do with her because of her fatheras lies.
Her suit came a week after her husband had also slapped her with a maintenance suit in which he was seeking $160 per month as spousal support. He claimed Ndlovu deserted him to allegedly cohabit with a workmate.
Ndlovu added that her estranged husband was also telling her relatives, neighbours and workmates that she was a prostitute.
a?Mkhululi Mnyokeni is my husband and we are married in terms of the Marriages Act Chapter 5:11 and the marriage still subsists. Mnyokeni has been emotionally and physically abusing me until I walked out of our matrimonial home in February 2012. He has been tarnishing my image by telling my relatives, neighbours and workmates that I am a hooker and he left me because he caught me at a city lodge.
a?He has also been telling our children that I am a satanist and that they should run away from me because I will kill them and drink their blood. At one point our younger child (eight-year-old) ran away from me because of those allegations. I was later told by our eldest child that their father had told them to abandon me because I was a devil worshipper. He is also threatening to come to my workplace to disturb my peace and I want this court to protect me,a? she pleaded.
Ndlovu in his defence said:
a?She is lying against me. I never threatened to go to her workplace considering the security which is there. It is really impossible for me to go there and insult or assault her. I am a Christian and I teach my children good Christian doctrines. It is not true that I called her a devil worshipper. The problem is that she is now staying with someone elseas husband,a? he said.
However, in passing the judgment presiding magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa ordered Mnyokeni to stay away from Ndlovuas workplace and not to emotionally and physically abuse her in any way.
