ZIMBABWE is a blessed nation with young voices advocating for their generation’s cause.
It’s a nation where love, unity and peace are being preached by youngsters from kindergarten.
Encouragingly, these young voices are striving to make Zimbabwe a better place to live.
These young advocates embody hope and resilience, inspiring others to join their mission.
As they mobilise their peers and communities, they are not only raising awareness of pressing issues, but also fostering a culture of activism and engagement.
Through their passion and determination, the youth of Zimbabwe are paving the way for a brighter future, where their dreams can flourish and contribute to the nation’s growth.
One notable voice of reason and social transformation is Tinayeishe Manyere, who has vowed to use her platform to change many lives, despite the challenges she faces.
Manyere, a learner at Chemhanya High School, is not only making a difference in both her school and the surrounding community, but is now speaking at a national level.
In an era where young girls frequently become victims of child rape, gender-based violence, and struggle for access to education in some communities, Manyere firmly believes that she can change that narrative.
At just 17 years old, she has already proven to be a leader, having served as Child Minister of Public Service, Child Chief Senator, and currently as Child Senate President.
Known for her strong sense of responsibility, confidence and compassion, she has been involved in several initiatives focusing on youth empowerment, education, and child rights.
“I believe in standing up for what is right and using my voice to bring attention to issues that affect children and young people,” she stressed. Unlike other young leaders who forget their mandates after attaining such powerful posts, Manyere noted that she is not simply looking to add numbers as the Child Senate President. Rather, she wants to be remembered as a game-changer, unifier, and role model who has transformed many lives during her tenure.
“I will always be there to fight for children’s rights,” she stated, as she continues to shine in her challenging yet exciting role.
Her case is unique and truly inspiring, as the multi-tasking Manyere has been performing these roles to perfection. She has never doubted herself as a young leader with much to offer.
In school, she balances academics with leadership, excelling in Literature in English, FRS and Heritage Studies at Advanced Level.
Her dream is to advance further and become a distinguished policy-maker. After all, she has excelled in similar positions in the Junior Parliament, which continues to nurture stars and brilliant minds.
Furthermore, Manyere hopes to pave way for future generations of young leaders, encouraging them to take activism seriously. She envisions a collective effort that empowers the youth and enhances their potential.
By being a beacon of hope and inspiration, Manyere aims to demonstrate that dedication and passion can effect real change.
For her, it is vital that the nation remembers her as a game-changer and a voice of reason concerning children’s rights that affect her current generation.
In fact, she is looking beyond her generation, setting a remarkable example of how young leaders and policy-makers should be defined.
With a heart for service and a mindset on progress, Manyere is a name we may be hearing more often as the next generation rises .
