Simon Chimbetu’s widow, Angela, is still at Chitungwiza Central Hospital, a week after she was admitted.
Mrs Chimbetu is suffering from pneumonia. Her stepson Suluman told The Herald that she was recovering.“She is responding well to medication and on the road to full recovery,” he said.

She collapsed during her husband’s commemoration gig held in the Harare Gardens a week ago complaining of breathing problems.
Her late husband was the first musician to be conferred with provincial liberation war hero status. Following her illness, Mrs Chimbetu could not attend the Heroes Day event and the commemorative gig held in Chinhoyi during the Heroes holiday.

She has been in and out of hospital in recent weeks as a result of high blood pressure, a situation which some people have attributed to the hectic programme in the run-up to her late husband’s commemoration gigs.
