MUSICIAN Andy Muridzo says he is humbled by the support he is getting from Economic Empowerment Group president, Mike Chimombe.

The black economic empowerment advocate bought Muridzo’s latest album titled Zunza for US$2000 at Bar Rouge last Friday.

Chimombe was the guest of honour at the event.

He also encouraged Muridzo to maintain high standards.

Chimombe urged musicians to diversify and find other avenues of generating money.

As a reciprocal gesture, Muridzo, whose event was well attended, showered Chimombe with praise.

“I’m humbled by the gesture which shows that he is indeed a brother and loving man.

“I first met him in 2017 and from there he has been buying music.

“He is one person who has been supporting me privately,” he said.

Muridzo said he was humbled by Chimombe’s love towards his band, and music, when he invited him as the guest of honour.

“When we invited him, we were shocked by his humility since he said he was available.

“People of Chimombe’s calibre are hard to come by judging by their demanding schedules.

“It was an honour having him around as he supported us on my special day.”

Prior to the show, Muridzo told H-Metro that he would not stop exploring different genres in his album.

His manager, Ronald “General” Mujuru, hailed fans for their support.

“We are grateful to our fans who came in numbers.

“We tried our best to make sure that we give our fans variety so that they get to enjoy themselves.

“As we promised, we fused a number of genres, including gospel, jiti, rhumba and museve in this album,” he said.

The album comes with 12 tracks, plus a bonus one.

Some of the trending tracks are Neni, Shoko Remufi, Place Out There, Chatamba Chana, Hwahwa, Nyakasikana and Mwana Uyu.
