Man contest today at Ochi City.
The hulk, who is based in Gweru, has won all the top bodybuilding contests on offer during the past two years and is still upbeat on his chances.
“I am the champion and that means I have to defend the crown again.
“I feel that there will be no competition if I do not enter,” said Chimuchenga.
Chimuchenga this year won the Mr Trade Fair while he beat an impressive field last year to win the Mr Pro-Fitness.
He was the last man to win the Mr Iron Man when the event was held in 2008.
“Some bodybuilders have won the Iron Man more than two times and I also hope to win it at least three times.
“Certainly I will not be happy with winning just once,” said Chimuchenga.
Chimuchenga said he is not looking much at his rivals but believes he will be in top shape.
“I hope I have worked hard,” said the muscleman.
The contest is expected to attract top bodybuilders like former champion Zumailer Eusen-Maman, Partson Chatedzuka, Walter Munyikwa and Eddie Marondera.
Marondera is a former winner of the Mr Novice and is convinced that he will be among the top finishers.
Christine Matange is the hot-favourite for the Ms Iron Man.
Mashonaland Bodybuilding and Fitness Association president Tofara Moyo said there are eight athletes with disabilities in the event.
“We have introduced this category for athletes with disabilities and eight will be taking part.
“In the able-bodied, we are expecting some athletes from Botswana who are on the way right now,” said Moyo.
The top prize for the Iron Man is a light motor vehicle, Toyota Fun-cargo, while there are residential prizes for the winners.
Pre-judging will be held this morning at Raylton Sports Club with Zimbabwe’s Big Brother Africa contestants Wendal Parson and Vimbai Mutinhiri also expected to grace the event at Ochi City.
Sungura musician Sulumani Chimbetu is another draw card.
