Chinese army told to study requirements of key CPC meeting

 BEIJING — The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and armed police on Wednesday were told to study the requirements of the just concluded key meeting of the Communist Party of China (CPC).  The 18th CPC Central Committee on Tuesday approved a decision on “major issues concerning comprehensively deepening reforms” at the close of its four-day Third Plenary Session.
The General Political Department of the PLA issued a notice on Wednesday, ordering that the army and armed police should study the decision earnestly, and make themselves fully aware of the reform on national defence and requirements in this regard.
According to a communique published after the key meeting, the CPC Central Committee called for innovation in military theory, strengthened military leadership, improving military strategy in the new era, and building a modern military power system with Chinese characteristics.

The session also vowed to deepen reform and adjustment of military system and establishments, promote reform and adjustment of military policy system, and promote army-civilian integration. – Xinhua.
