THE Chamber of Chinese Enterprises in Zimbabwe (CCEZ), China Zimbabwe Exchange Centre (CZEC) in collaboration with Victory Milestone Recruitment Agency are set to host the second edition of the Zimbabwe Chinese Enterprises Job Fair aimed at creating job opportunities for the locals.

The Job Fair which is taking place tomorrow at the Harare Agricultural Showgrounds will be running under the theme “Bridging Talent with Chinese Company Opportunities.”

CCEZ Secretary General Mr Wenjie Li said Chinese investments and companies make a significant contribution to the employment of skilled individuals in Zimbabwe.

“This aligns with the government’s efforts to create numerous job opportunities for Zimbabwean citizens fostering a mutually beneficial business development solution between China and Zimbabwe.

“This year’s Job Fair will feature numerous companies offering a wide range of job opportunities spanning from general labour positions to executive roles. Industries represented will include mining, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, logistics and supply chain management,” he said

Mr Li said the fair aims to strengthen the socio-economic ties between China and Zimbabwe.

“China has consistently been the largest contributor to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Zimbabwe and with initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative, BRICS, and FOCAC, Chinese employers are expected to create a surge in job opportunities,” he said.

“In light of this, the job fair serves as a platform for Chinese employers operating in Zimbabwe to recruit highly skilled and talented individuals who will contribute to the employer’s interests and the country’s development agenda. The job fair aligns with Zimbabwe’s education 5.0 strategy by providing employment opportunities that utilize modern technology and skills.

“This approach not only addresses some of our country’s challenges but also facilitates the transfer of skills and knowledge during the course of employment. Selected employees may have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs in China, further enhancing their expertise and broadening their skill set.”
