Burzil Dube, the Hwange secretary, said their players regrouped for training last week but Chinyengetere is still to return to action.
“He has improved quite a lot and soon he should be going to see a physiotherapist for specialist check-up.
“Right now he is no longer on crutches but he has not rushed to train yet.
“At the moment, he is waiting to go and see a specialist doctor who will carry out an assessment and then advise, accordingly.
“If the specialist doctor says he can resume light training, then Roddy will do so and if he has to wait he will also do so,” said Dube.
Chinyengeretere was at the nasty end of a lunge from former Monomotapa goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi during a league match at Rufaro on September 23.
The Hwange skipper had to be ferried to hospital with initial indications ruling him out of action for at least eight weeks, which have since lapsed.
Before the injury, Chinyengetere had attracted the interest of South African Premiership side Bidvests Wits.
Dube said Nation Dube was currently taking full charge of training with the assistance of former goalkeeper Brian Njobvu.
Former Hwange manager Tenant Chilumba has left the club to join FC Platinum while assistant coach Mabelo Njekwa is now in charge of a Division One outfit.
Chipangano are set to lose gangly striker Fransisco Zekumbawire who is heading to Dynamos and Zambian defender Aaron Katebe set to join FC Platinum. Meanwhile, the Hwange Football Club executive is headed for a reshuffle.
Chipangano has been described as a two-man show with only the chairman Joseph Zulu and secretary Burzil Dube running the club.
Hwange FC president and acting Hwange Colliery Company managing director, Stanford Ndlovu, confirmed that a reshuffle at the club was looming.
“That is definitely needed at our club and while we might not change the entire set-up, I personally feel we need to make sure the structure is in conformity with PSL and even Zifa expectations and as for our club, we are not compliant,” said Ndlovu.
Ndlovu said he would, before the end of this week, consult Zulu to find the best way forward so that when the Castle Lager Premiership season begins in March, the status quo at the club would have changed.
There are strong indications that former club secretary — general, Charles Nyala, might bounce back as vice-chairman with Sydney Nare or Lovemore Sibanda, himself a former chairman, likely to be thrust into the hot seat.
Other names touted for the executive are that of former players Lemmy Munenekwa, Isaac Phiri, Stanley Nkomo and Kenneth Ngulube filling the development portfolio.
