The match will be played at White City Stadium where the 32nd Independence celebrations will be held.
The Zifa communications manager Nicky Moyo-Dhlamini confirmed the venue.
“The final of the Independence Cup between FC Platinum and Motor Action is set for the National Sports Stadium with Dynamos and Hwange playing in a third place playoff encounter at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
“The competition is being funded by the Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture,” Moyo-Dhlamini said.
In separate interviews yesterday, both Dynamos and Hwange declared that they were taking the game at White City seriously.
Dynamos will be meeting Hwange for the second time this season. The coalminers dumped the Harare giants out of the Bob 88 Super Cup that was played at Barbourfields early this year when they beat DeMbare 2-1.
The Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said they were bringing their full-strength squad.
“The Independence Cup is a big competition on our Zimbabwean calendar and the day on its own is special to every Zimbabwean.
“We are honoured to be part of the celebrations and if the truth be told we were supposed to be in the final but fate had other ideas that is why we are coming to Bulawayo.
“We are bringing our strongest team because we will like to use the competition to prepare for our Caf Champions League encounter set for Tunisia this month end. We also have to fine-tune our team for our league matches,” said Mubaiwa.
The Dynamos boss called on their supporters and city football lovers to come in their numbers for the celebrations.
He said they would be unveiling to their Bulawayo fans their 2012 signings.
“This is the time for our supporters in Bulawayo who have not had the chance to see their team in action to meet their 2012 squad. We are also taking this opportunity to meet the Bulawayo chapter of our supporters,” said Mubaiwa.
Some of the players expected tomorrow include their top marksman Takesure Chinyama, Ocean Mushure, Roderick Mutuma, Denver Mukamba and Washington Arubi.
Arubi scored the only goal for DeMbare in the Bob 88 Super Cup while ex-Zim Leopards striker Francesco Zekumbawire got a brace for the coalminers.
Hwange spokesman Burzil Dube said they were ready for Dynamos.
“We always take each game we play seriously and Dynamos should expect a tough encounter. What makes the clash even more special is that the match is on Independence Day and we would want to win on this special day,” Dube said.
Zekumbawire, veteran Gilbert Zulu and ex-Zimbabwe Saints target man Evans Rusike are expected to lead the coalminers’ strike force.
Club captain Rodwell Chinyengetere, tough-as-teak defender Gerald Ndlovu, Castle Lager Premiership Soccer Star of the Year finalist Nkosana “Santsho” Siwela, goalkeeper Petros Mhari, speed merchant Farai Vimisai and Tawanda Mareya are some of Hwange’s key players.
