Coach Wishes Shiridzinomwa said Chazika, a former Dynamos player who was plucked from the archives at the beginning of the season, has been dropped as he missed yesterday’s training because of personal problems.
Rangers are rooted at the bottom of the table after losing all four games so far.
Shiridzinomwa, who was elevated from the position of team manager following the sacking of Misheck Chidzambwa towards the end of the last season, yesterday said they are not pressing the panic button yet.
He said Rangers were still waiting for their day after surrendering a two-goal advantage in the 2-3 defeat to Motor Action last Sunday.
“I must admit we had a rough start. Our preparations let us down but we had hoped to, at least, start collecting points from our third game against Shabanie Mine, but things didn’t go our way.
“I think we are now up to the level where we can play and win against any team because we now have the combinations, which have been lacking.
“We played well in our last game against Motor Action and I believe we could have won that match had the referees been fair enough. But one thing for sure is that we cannot talk of relegation. It’s not in our dictionary,” said Shiridzinomwa.
Rangers are the only team in the Premiership yet to win a match, let alone collect a point.
They lost to Highlanders, Shabanie Mine, Chicken Inn and Motor Action.
Shiridzinomwa said they were ready to salvage something from Hwange.
But they will be forced to make at least two changes to the starting lineup as striker Talent Munetsi and Fungai Mukaira are out with injuries.
“We are likely to make at least two changes to the team that played at the weekend. There are two players down with injuries and Nyasha is also out because he didn’t train today (yesterday) due to personal problems”.
Rangers are still struggling to reach the levels of the last season when they began on a brighter note only to fade out as the season wore on.
But they have some experienced players like Bernard Bvumbwe, Eddie Mashiri, Tawanda Ushe and Vincent Nzombe.
Their opponents Hwange have struggled for consistency this season.
Since they bowed out of the Confederation Cup tournament last month Tennant Chilumba’s men have not been at their best.
The coalminers have managed two victories in four games and are coming from a morale boosting 1-0 win over Buffaloes.
Harare giants Dynamos, who arrived from a disastrous trip to Tunisia on Monday, will be on the road tomorrow for a league match against Buffaloes at Sakubva.
The Harare giants would quickly want to erase memories of that drubbing with a positive result to lift the pressure on the team.
Coach Callisto Pasuwa and his charges are aware of the importance of winning in Mutare as they have another big game against Hwange waiting for them at Rufaro this Sunday.
DeMbare have won two of their three matches this season and lost the other game to Monomotapa.
