Chipangas to hold first concert this weekend

Showgrounds beginning on October 6 to 8, 2011.
The couple, which was once part of Black Spirits, Oliver Mtukudzi’s backing band – is billed to share the stage Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia.

The Tabernacle of Grace will host the concert alongside the three-day conference “World Transfer”.
Asked about the show, Chipanga said they were taking their music career to dizzy heights.
“This is our first show ever since leaving the Black Spirits and we are going to reveal what we are made of. We have got a lot of shows lined up and this is just one of them. We are going to uplift the name of Jesus.

“Whenever we are approached to perform we won’t hesitate because we are ready to show what we can do,” Chipanga said.
He added: “Leaving the Black Spirits has actually broadened our horizons. When you are working under someone you will be thinking within the parameters of that person but now we are widening our horizons using the skills and experience we gained from working with the Black Spirits.”

Charles – who featured Namatai on his debut album “Prayer Expose – Namatai” said they were embarking on their first regional tour in a week’s time.
“We will be touring Swaziland, South Africa, Lesotho and probably Ghana,” he said.

Chipanga said they were thrilled to share the stage with the Charambas at the “World Transfer Conference”.
“We have always looked up to the Charambas for inspiration because they have done a lot to gospel music,” he said.

Chipanga and Namatai have been members of the church for close to two years. According to James Munemo of the Tabernacle of Grace Church, the aim of the three-day conference is to empower people through the word of God.

“It is a prophetic conference aimed at empowering people in wealth, be it spiritual, physical or material wealth,” he said.
United Kingdom-based Ghanaian, Prophet Henry Akwase Prempeh, will be the guest speaker while Zimbabwean preacher, Apostole Batsirai Java, who is the leader of the church, will be the host.
