Chipawo celebrates WTD in grand style

More than 100 children gathered at the Dutch Reformed Church in Harare last weekend for the belated World Theatre Day.  The day which is commemorated on March 20 each year ran under the theme “Take a child to a Theatre Today” and was set aside by ASSITEJ members.
Chipawo centres from across the country presented plays based on the convention on the rights of children from their own understanding.

A message from Yvette Hardie president of ASSITEJ for the World Theatre Day for a young audience was read to the children and guests.

Several activities including dramas and poetry also took place at the lively commemorations.

Last year Chipawo commemorated the day at the Zimbabwe College of Music with various top local artistes gracing the occasion. – CL Reporter.
